Experience your glasses though virtual reality

3/29/2016

Essilor has launched a new 3D virtual reality headpiece set to transform buying new glasses. Customers can experience real life or interactive scenes such as polarised lenses in bright sunlight conditions and walking down stairs in varifocal lenses for the first time. Customers can now experience the future benefits that their new lenses can bring them before they decide on their purchase. It is the first headset of this type to be used in Optician stores and shows that the optics industry is keeping up with the interactive retail world of today.

At glasseslab, we are excited to be the first Optician in Bromley to use this technology for its customers. It is aimed to help customers make informed choices on the multiple lens options now available, which can be quite a confusing process. Our Eye care professionals are trained to demonstrate the wide variety of lenses to customers and the benefits to your vision. It is hoped to enrich the customer journey in store and provides our customer with technology to help visualise their options.  The virtual reality headset is available to use in store now.

Cazal

If you haven’t heard of CAZAL, be prepared to get excited!

CAZAL was first created in 1979 by Austrian eyewear designer, Carl Zalloni. When passion for a product is reflected in the design, there is no-one like Carl, whose eyewear design became a cult in the 1980’s.

Zalloni knew that consumers wanted something extra with their sunglasses. They didn’t just want protection from the sun anymore—they wanted a statement. CAZAL Design does not follow the mainstream, instead it always finds new ways. The result: original and unusual eyewear models with a high recognition value! Whether for men or women: CAZAL eyewear is stylishly composed and beguile with its very own character, statement frames and sunglasses designed for people for whom individuality and extravagance are part of their life.

CAZAL use first-class materials like pure titanium or gold and guarantee their frames are of the highest quality.  Every pair of CAZAL glasses goes through 35 different processes and the hinges undergo 50,000 different motions to ensure durability for extensive use.  The price tag for early CAZALs hit upwards of $500 and the sunglasses were still flying off the shelves.

This brand defined the typical Hip-Hop look of the 80s like no other brand. Eyewear lovingly nicknamed “Cazzy” by its fans. CAZAL eyewear is still worn by some of the greats today, including Jay-Z, Beyonce, Kanye West, Brad Pitt, Al Pacino, Rick Ross (Rick Ross has a facial tattoo of the Cazal logo )and Run DMC.

If you want to complete your futuristic and ultra-cool wardrobe, then you have to have a pair of CAZALs…

Childrens eye tests

80% of what we learn is through our eyes...

As many as one in five school-aged children have an undiagnosed vision problem that could interfere with their ability to learn. Common eye conditions such as, lazy eye (ambylopia) and squint (strabismus) are treatable if they are identified and treated early, the sooner vision problems are detected, the better the outcome.

Children don’t have to know their letters to have their eyes checked. It is possible to see whether the child has a squint, or needs glasses, by using age appropriate techniques .
Eye examinations do not hurt and are made fun and interactive for children.

At glasseslab we recommend all children have their first eye test at between 3 to 4 years of age. Children under 16 are entitled to a free NHS eye test. Ask in store for more details.
